My name is Adebolu Ololade. I ride a 2006 Infiniti FX 35. I suddenly experienced a drop in acceleration with 'Service Engine Soon' flashing intermittently.

Is the engine hesitating on idle? like if it's going to shut down?

Sounds like a cylinder miss-fire. Usually a spark plug or coil pack failing. This happens due to age of the parts or oil in your spark plug wells. You should inspect the wells, if you find oil, your valve covers are leaking and need to be replaced.

Get the error codes to be sure.

Yes, Jval.
Thanks for your input.

Before you go through all the trouble, simple remove the ground from battery, hit the brake a couple times to drain any residual energy and then reconnect battery. see if that resets you. When I hear 'down in power' first thing I think of is 'Limp mode'
