Has anyone noticed that the factory navigation system always give an inaccurate estimated arrival time? Seems to calculate your arrival time based on 55 mph speed, even when the speed limit is much higher. On a long trip, it's off by hours.

I'm using the original 2012 version. I'm wondering if buying a later update will fix that problem.
 
Yeah, i noticed that too. I never really use it anymore instead i have waze app on my phone which goes through the blue tooth. So much more accurate and gives your real time traffic.
 
Buying the traffic upgrade service on XM helps with the travel times as well as the routes. However I rarely use the factory Nav & just use Google maps on my phone....
 
For the price of XM Navi w/ traffic update you can just get a better data plan for your cell and use Waze/Google/etc for navigation. I also thought of getting that service at first, but its friggin pricey!

Same here. But I will occasionally also use the car's map just to keep a frame of reference in in areas I am unfamiliar with. Beats looking down at my phone's screen.
 
I'm thinking of getting an iPad with LTE and using it's Maps App... That way I can see a large screen and I think I can use a Lightning Adaptor to get it charging and the sound going through my iPod adapter...

How did you get Waze to work through the bt? Google maps works (on iOS), but haven’t figured out how to with Waze.

EDIT: Figured it out; settings>sound>bt speaker

I use this clip, mounts to the vent and does a good job oh holding the phone up high and it’s solid on bumps as well.
