I worked for many years as an automotive interior trim engineer. I bought the Infinity FX35 for my wife. It was 3 years old, used with 23,041 miles on the clock when I bought it and it has been garaged the entire time we've owned it. I really like the car except for this one bubbling dash issue. Having been involved with Nissan directly as an interior trim supplier, I can tell you that there are testing standards that suppliers undergo for delamination of vinyl skin on foam, UV stabilization and cleaning agents. There is no reason that this bubbling issue should be happening, particularly on a $50,000 vehicle. We didn't do Instrument Panels, we did armrests, but the same requirements apply. Either the standard written wasn't stringent enough, or the supplier of the dash didn't follow the process properly. In either case, the consumer shouldn't have to pay for replacement of dash panels for a design/manufacturing screw-up.
