Newbie question: should you replace both at the same time or just the one throwing the code (bank 1)? Also OEM vs Aftermarket? I replaced bank one with a part from advance auto and now I get a hard crank and all 3 idiot lights on the dash.

I just (2 weeks ago) replaced both camshaft position sensors and the crankshaft sensor. 3 in total. VDC OFF and SLIP light stayed on, code P0340. I own a 2005 FX35 Rwd with 98K miles. I was told by my mechanic, that usually when one fails, the others will follow. Me being me, I didn't want to deal with it down the line. Depends if you want to fork up extra money now or later I guess. My sensors were replaced with the Hitachi brand. Best of luck.

So, how are the Hitachi sensors working out for you?
Anyone willing to comment on there replaced cam/crankshaft sensors, be they oem or aftermarket and if they're working well and for how long?
I went out earlier today for awhile, came home and left again a couple hours later. Had to crank the FX 3 times to start it. Power is weak at low rpms in 1st gear until around 4k then it kicks in like nothing happened, like turbo lag but I have no turbo. No lights on the dash but checked my scangauge and got a pending code p0345. I guess I'll replace both cam shaft position sensors and the crankshaft position sensor as well.
I've done a bit of reading on the z/g sites and most recommend replacing with oem. Z1's got'em for the best price $110 and $84 for the cams and $84 for the crankshaft.

Only replace with OEM sensors!

I replaced my driver side sensor with one from O'reily auto on the side of the interstate about 6 years ago. After clearing the codes they never came back. The passenger side sensor lasted another 4 years before it needed to be replaced, which I did with another part from O'reily

After speaking with Hitachi in LA and in GA a couple months ago, I found out that whatever Hitachi parts are made for Nissan/Infiniti, they are original equipment. The dealer gets them from LA and the auto parts stores get'em from GA. The exact same parts without Nissan/Infiniti stamps/boxes. MAF's, coil packs, cam and crank position sensors, etc..
