Super charger

I was also looking at a supercharger for a while too. I like the roots type better since it gives you torque instantly from 2000 rpm and that is the place I need the power the most. The reason is, In the area I live, there are many routes that got expanded lanes right before the signal lights for people to make right turns and later on the lanes merged back to one. Somehow there are so many people like to use this to pass / cut through the other people. It is like a legal drag race from the signal light to the speed limit (55 mph) and I really hate to be cut by a camry V6 ...so I need to be faster than that from 0 to 60.
I have researched on the stillen kit and almost pull the trigger this last christmas when there were some discount on their website. However, I have found that the blower Stillen is using, Eaton m62, is an obsolete model and very inefficient. I have looked at the latest eaton model, tvs1320, and found the compression map is so much better. It also has so much more potential in getting to higher boost in case more power is needed. If there is a kit that utilizes this blower, I would definitely start saving money to get it.

^ most G35's max out stage4 around 330hp, then your done. If that wasn't cutting it for most g35 owners, i cant imagine the heavier FX doing it. For the same cost a vortech would be much better. 2 things hold me back from doing it. Main one being for a g35 setup, i need a new hood to clear the stillen and the 2nd one being i dont know how much power my AWD drivetrain can handle without breaking.

ChicagoZ guys have least 8 supercharged and a few single and twin turbos G and Z's but i think all are manual minus 1. None are running stillen AFAIK, some started with it and just moved on.

The Stillen SC has a wretched reliability and performance reputation. Maybe they fixed it now, but I've read WAY more bad than good...

Just reading through this thread randomly and got a chuckle out of the fact that I now own a stg4 stillen supercharged FX with over 50k trouble free supercharged miles on a completely stock motor making 340whp.

Do you still have this fx35 & setup w/the stillen?
If you have a moment, please tell me what you're overall experience has been as you've had it for a long time. Gas mileage w/out the lead foot, engine oil dirtier, added a bunch of extra coolers for this & that, any info you're willing to share is very much appreciated.
I can't get it out of the back of my mind. @ first, didn't care for water cooling intercooler but might actually be best for around-town which is most of my driving. Looking to go fi & have seen everything. All have pro's & con's, ALL. Less power = more reliability, more power = fun until fx brakes & now getting towed, shop ridden & money pit. Asked three very reputable shops "what do u think, turbo, tt or s.c."? No spit, they all said s.c., no mention of stillen, but all said supercharger is the way to go for multiple reasons! Think they're tired of turbo issues? Engine builder told me "turbos get really hot & cause multiple problems as a result, especially over time, not to mention other issues". So confused.
Thinking I & shop owner (this guys sharp & honest) might be able to get more out of the stillen but still, 340 to the wheels isn't too shabby. If I go this route & we figure out how to improve it's top-end limitations, etc., I'll share this info for sure.

I don't still have it, and honestly I didn't have it very long before my wife vetoed it on account of how unruly (read loud af and hard to drive normally) it was. I will say though that it was super fun and if I ever had another FX that Eaton blower setup from the still en kit would be on my short list for its simplicity and reliability.

Also, and most importantly, all the reliability problems I referenced above were solved (by the builder) with my particular installation. It didn't have the 7th injector or stillen tune, and did have a custom tune with a throttle actuated aftermarket nitrous charge/intercooler cooler. It would incinerate 305/40r22 tires from a dig though, which was pretty entertaining.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping you would. Understandable that the ball &...I mean the wife wouldn't approve. Regardless of what some say, I love the way it sounds, not that sound is a reason to buy, but for me it's icing. I've always liked positive displacement blowers.
So nix the 7th injector? That makes sense. Better to increase output on all 6. Nice solution stillen had, keeping cost down but my guess is you must've had fuel issues @ higher rpm's with their 7th injector solution? Already have Osiris & was planning on using that for whatever FI I end up with. I'll have to look into this "throttle actuated aftermarket nitrous charge/intercooler cooler". Thanks for that.
I recall reading a post where Rookie still liked the Stillen, even after blowing his engine & going TT & still(en) recommended it. Long time ago but for me, still relevant.
Even if I had everything set up as you did, doubt I'd get 340 to the wheels. AWD has it's pro's & con's.
