Fx35 Valve Cover Replacement Alternative

Topic is a bit of a dead cow but anybody any updates on this if it is possible to get these seals separate?
Very intreseted as i have a few sparkplug holes with oil in there..

Nobody here did the replacement by their own?
As from what i read it is best to get the replacements from them and send my old ones in for core exchange.
This drilling job will require some precision like on a milling machine, if you end up offcentre the leakage might get worse then it was i think..

Wietse, did you get any already. I'm building up a new engine and honestly never heard of this issue. But would like to have some new once just in case as well.
I have my covers painted and with sipping to the US being a pain in the ass as well i think i would try to do it myself here.
If your willing we could buy them together and i'll look into mounting them for us.
Did you get any pricing from the already...??

Lett me know please...??

Raymond, i am still a bit in doubt.
Just because this will require drilling the old ones out it might go wrong somewhere and i'll end up with a bigger leak then it is now.
For now i am not worried about it as there is not much oil in there, just little bit sweaty.
I might save up a bit and order new ones together with a set of wheelhubs/bearings to cut the shipping costs.

Ok clear.....but i do think Nissan/Infiniti doesn't offer these themselves. So shipping would be seperate anyway.
And i ordered some new front hubs a while ago and these things are heavy and big....so be ware of the pricing. Maxblast ordered some parts a while ago from the dutch dealer and pricing was't so bad......might want to ask them a price also.

I think i'll jump into this. With my new build engine and everything cleaned up.....oil leaks would be the last thing i want :err:

Just was thinking to buy new covers and problem solved.
For the wheelhubs i will try to contact the dealer and see what they say, also the local Nissan dealer told me to just take the partnumber and they also might be able to get them for me....throug some channels as they are not allowed anymore to sell Infiniti parts.

Probably they will offer me same as for the valve covers, i will just compare price from US combined with shipping costs.

Good luck...!! I gues with the current dollar rate it will be hard for them too compete but then again some US companies know there shipping pricing......man it seems like there profit lies in the shipping

It is worht a try, and indeed...my last package was 80 dollar shipping and unlucky me the customs also took my package so i had to pay another 40 euro (50 dollar) on top of the 180 dollar package.....
Just for 1 hose and 1 aluminium pipe for the A/C system....

Aiiiiiii yeah i had that with some thermal gaskets......they were 65 USD ut shipping was 60 USD and was lucky with customs otherwise that would come extra as well....:eek.:

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but the other site was talking about the R&D guys and how they apparently recently went out of business? The website is still up and running... Wonder if anyone here tried it out... I'm at 144K... Replaced my spark plugs myself at around 65K to see if there was any oil leakage (and get a warranty repair done if there was), but there wasn't... I'm planning on doing my spark plugs again soon, so of course I wanted to replace the grommets while I was down there...

DOH! Really wanna replace my sparkplugs this summer and I fully expect to see a puddle of oil down there... Wanted to be prepared just in case, but DON'T wanna pay for full valve covers... :(

Wonder if that actually works... Don't see why they wouldn't as it's mostly the same engine...

And if I do go the OEM route, I'll definitely hit you up! I've gotta wait a little bit to free up some cash but soon... SOON!!! :P
