So after 2 years of my spacers being on the car without being removed . The spacers gave a really hard time to come off, while removing it the guy rounded two of the nuts on one of the rear spacers. long story short it had to be cut of and i ended up having to replace two of my studs. Took the spacers of used a lot of anti-seize and reinstalled them.View attachment 10907View attachment 10908

That's a great amount of labor to dig into them. I'll have to check mine when winter arrives.

Wow, that's crazy they were seized on like that.

i believe a couple things should be watched out for when running spacers. First, do not let anyone else install your spacers unless you know for sure they are not exceeding 80 ft/lbs torque. Secondly, take them off, clean them up and reinstall them once a year, especially if you run them thru crappy winters where salt and sand is used on the roads.

From now on am taking mine , of every year if not twice.

I think everyone should always tell the dealer, or anyone else working on their car to never use the impact on their spacers/wheels/lugs.

I always used to tell the shop, hand torque the lugs. I swear those guys get lazy and they just crank their impact at like 200ftlbs on the lugs.

You know what else is scary, even if they hand torque them, the studs are not necessarily torqued to the right torque. Many dealers or mechanics don't get their torque wrenches calibrated on a regular basis and most don't know what to do with their torque wrenches when not in use.
I know because I have checked and calibrated a few for a couple of shops. One of my jobs was testing and calibrating torque wrenches at a Nuclear plant.

So true. I remove mine at least once a year now to clean them and apply a very thin drop of anti seize.

I also upgraded the crappy ichiba lugs to more heavy duty and larger (the ichiba ones barely have any room for you to grip and are super soft)

I have a 2009 FX50s with now sport mode and it handles beautifully. But the spacers are only for looks?
