Looking to go hfc. Found an ok deal on berk. Not sure if if G35 or G37 one fits. One has a brace and the other doesn't. Anyone ? Thanks.

Seems like test pipes come with issues. CELs and possible tuning.
Hfc will gimme alittle extra ooomf with no problems.
I'm not oopposed to listening to opinions tho.

That's a VQ35HR so get the one for that. The years between the G35 and FX don't fully line up. Don't think the G37 one would fit. But also don't think the VQ35DE on (1st gen FX) works either.

All HFC for the hr/vhr fit the FX35. My HFCs were for g37/370z/350z hr. They had no tabs for the brace but Berks should have them. And yes you will get a CEL. And yes you will probably need a tune. I got state ref in California because my exhaust was stinky with the HFCs. Lost the low end torque gained nothing. Sounded good though. Not worth it for not noticable gains but just my $0.02

You could get CEL with either solution but less likely with HFC. Keep in mind though as they age, they become slightly less effective and it may throw the CEL even if you didn't have one at first. You'll need a tune with either option to maximize gains - you wouldn't get much just bolting on. And HFCs may still smell but it's going to be much better than RTP. I run catless downpipes on my BMW and kept the OEM secondary cats. When I first start it up before the secondary warms up, the fumes are intense - it smells like I left a gas can open. After a few minutes, it gets much better. Still a hint of fuel but not much. That's how HFCs usually smell to me, a bit of gas but not bad.

To get rid of CEL you can always get O2 sensor extenders to move them out of the flow. Don't work perfectly but usually enough to keep the light off and pass emissions. I don't know if Uprev or other tunes can clear the CEL (on my BMW the tune clears the CEL).

FWIW, most RTPs don't sound good to me; there is rasp and drone. ART pipes would sound better, but they don't fit AWD if you are. HFCs are less raspy because the core knocks down the sound some.

I just read this whole thread I don't know what it's about .

I'd like to buy a vowel please

Check Engine Light
High Flow Cat
Resonated Test Pipe
Adanced Resonance Tuning
All Wheel Drive
Oxygen

Gets tiring typing all those out multiple times. Does the thread make more sense?

Ended up spending hfc money on a set of ksport coilovers. Art pipes got my attention but it sounds like theyll need additional modification to make then work.

I don't know on the 2nd gen but on the first one their a direct bolt on.

You forgot to explain BMW and OEM... :D
Break My Window, right?

Those are civilian terms, (more or less,) depends who the civilian is. But the other gets a little thready.

You'd probably do better than me on a quiz.
