Adaptive cruise stopped working. Green cruise light turns on with orange cruise light whenever I turn it on. Cleaned sensor, still won't work. Holding on switch for a few seconds won't turn on regular cruise either. Anyone care to comment on likely solutions? Even a clever way to get the regular cruise to work. A wiring diagram would be nice.

My 04 FX35 is doing the same thing. Makes an unusual noise when you turn on cruise and then the green and orange lights illuminate. Cruise control does not work.

Update on my 04 FX35...while driving if i hold down the cruise control on button for a few seconds the green cruise light turns on and the cruise control works without the ICC function. Works fine, no beep sound, no orange light. If I turn off the cruise control while continuing the drive and try to turn it back on i get the beep and both the green and orange lights and cruise does not engage. After I turn off the vehicle and restart it, I can hold the on button down for a few seconds and again the cruise works without the beep and orange light. Of course the automatic braking, etc does not function in this mode. Guess it may be the laser sensor that's failed? Next i will try disconnecting the laser sensor to see if the cruise will work all the time with out the adaptive features. Any thoughts or ideas?

same issue cruise control stopped working and volume buttons isnt functioning properly, tried changing the switches but still
i will change the CLOCK SPRING soon and see if it fix the issue

Funny you mention the clock spring. My FX was doing that intermittently, then I got t-boned and they ended up changing the clock spring during the repairs due to an AirBag fault. Since then, the problem went away. About 8 months ago.
Good luck!

When i early diagnosed the car it shows these codes P1564 (ASCD Steering swtich) - B1129 (Side Airbag module RH) however i changed the switches but the issue still persists
done some researches and mostly refer to the CLOCK SPRING, so im gonna change it and hopefully it will fix it forever
Thanks mate

The process was easy for me.. hardest part to me was removing the TORQUED bolt that holds the steering wheel. I had to have my brother counter my strength

Update, changed the Clock spring unit successfully and now cruise control/volume control buttons works like charm
costed me like 140$ ( 90 parts + 50 labor) and its a simple repair if you have the right tools and slight idea of mechanics you can easily do it yourself
many thanks everybody

Where did you find it for $90?

Seems like this thread went in a different direction from the original post. Recently, the cruise control on my '06 FX35 will not engage. When I depress the button, I get a loud beep and the amber cruise light comes on . This is the adaptive cruise control system. I even tried to hold the button down for a few seconds to bypass the adaptive control but that does nothing. Anyone else experience this, and how did you fix it? Thank you.

Cynot, I'm not sure this thread went in a different direction. if you read the previous post it seems that another user stumbled across a fix after his car was in an accident and the clockspring was changed. The subsequent posts were about someone replacing their clock spring and the process for doing so and how it also fixed their cruise control issue.
