Welcome. There's been some discussion on cold air intakes on some threads here. But the general consencus is that they dont add much value really. The intakes for our vehicles are doing a mighty fine job for average user.
Skip out on any intake mods (including changing out the OEM air filter), unless you just want to do it for looks. Aside from a lighter wallet, you won't get any real noticeable effect from the modification.
I have the Stillen Gen 3 long tube intakes. I lost all the pictures i took during the install but you have to cut through the radiator core support to get them through. I felt a noticable punch with them for sure and it sounds amazing. Rip also did a similar one with the takeda g37 intake.
With Catback, HFCs, Invidia Catback, Stillen Gen 3s, and no tune I dynoed at 278whp/ 242 lb/ft torque on a dynojet. Tune wouldve got me close to 300whp/ 260 torque which are really strong numbers. However living in SoCal, a couple days after I got a State Referee ticket for "tampering with emission control". So stock cats now and I have a LOT of low end torque compared to when I had HFC.
