2013 G37 IPL 2015 QX70S
This arrived yesterday, QX70S in majestic white. We had it shipped in from a Vegas dealership after a newly-opened local dealership had all the salesmanship of a 1970's Dodge franchise and they wouldn't play (at all) on an identical vehicle on the dealer lot. Found out they also own the BMW dealership in town so it makes sense, LOL.

Anyway, sorry for the crappy pics, very busy with work and I spent a few hours detailing it as the trip over had the transport going through some nasty weather. Was quite dirty upon arrival so no daytime photos just yet (plus it's a stock QX70S and everyone's seen them).

This'll be the wife's well-deserved car and it'll snuggle up next to my G37 IPL in the garage at night. It's my second "FX" and hoping this one treats me as well as the old one which gave me exactly one issue in 150K miles (thermostat). It's nice that the engines are virtually identical between the IPL and the QX.

I've already begun the small mods, aka LED wedge bulbs for the interior lights as well as a set of Weathertech front mats. I actually ran out of LED bulbs as I had a handful when I converted over everything in my IPL. So I still have to switch over the passenger side footwell and front bottom door bulb. The LED's are so worth it. Takes about 15 minutes to switch them all out and they're substantially brighter than the OEM filament bulbs. I have an Infiniti rear cargo protector coming tomorrow. Still need to get the rear tonneau cover although the rear glass has REALLY dark tint and you can't see a thing inside the car.

I may add some spacers all around as it looks like the wheels could be a bit more flush. I'm also considering lowering it a hair if I can figure out a decent solution that meets my criteria. We'll most likely put a hitch on it to tow our toys. I'd also like to put the Akebono brake kit on it but that'll be when it's time to change out the pads at the earliest. As of now, the only thing I don't really like about the vehicle is the lack of tire options for the 21" wheels. Oh and I'll be switching the oil over to Royal Purple once it's time to change it. I switched over to RP in my IPL and it made a very large difference in the valve train noise department and overall smoothness of the engine.

Was going to post a nice photo of my G but my entire album somehow disappeared from Photobucket. Grr. So just one photo I uploaded to a new album. The IPL has a few mods including a really rare set of Aragosta Type S dampers from japan, Fast Intentions resonated high flow cats, spacers and a Nismo R-tune intake.

Sweet looking ride, maybe you should try and get your hands on the Aerokit to make that qx70 look more amazing

Not sure the wife would go for it. I'd like to lower it about an inch first and do spacers as well. I like the slightly tweaked OEM look

Welcome and congrats! I thought I was reading my own post there for a while.

What LED bulbs are you using for the interior? Any pics?

Re: Tires - I went with 275 Pirelli Scorpion Verdes with H&R 15mm rear spacers. Very, very happy with the setup. Akebonos at some point hopefully ...

Thanks wyatth!

I'm using Yitamotor T10 wedge bulbs that I bought on Amazon. They have a built-in diffuser which I like. They're bright and cheap. You get 10 for under $9 shipped (if you're Amazon Prime).

I'll check out the Scorpions. I've not had good luck with Pirelli in the past (different model different car) due to how quickly they wore, wear pattern and noise. Are the 15mm spacers enough? I see lots of folks doing 15mm front, 20mm rear.

Do 15mm front and 20mm rear. It will sit perfect. Also H&R springs drop it just the right amount. I also agree with you on the moded OEM look.

15/20 may be nice for stock 265s, but I find the 0/15 on the OE 21s with 275s to be perfect. I like things just about flush, but no poke. I also don't want excessive dirt tossed down the side from the front. The rear is also more conservative from the factory, so I think this makes the F/R about equal.

I've had the Scorpions for about 10K now. They are better than the Bridgestone Dueller in every way.

Winter setup or just did not like the 21"?

Just don't like the 21 because the tires are too skinny, I like fat tires and WIDE stance....I have a set of 06 18" for winters though.
