Would oem TMPS fit on non-oem rims for 2nd gen fx35?

Hi
I am getting a set of winters+rims (Blizzak DM-V1 265/60R18, Bremmer Kraft BR05 18x8 offset:45mm backspacing:6.29'' bolt pattern:5-114) for my 2010 fx35, and they are the same size as stock 18's i believe. Then i figure i also need to get TMPS for this winter set since tire pressure is always unstable in winter here. I found some guy in my town who is selling OEM Nissan Infiniti TMPS, part # 40700-JK00C for only $195, which i found is a good deal. The guy says those tmps don't fit on the wheels for his car. Here comes the question, i know those TMPS would fit for the oem 18's, but do any of you know if they would fit on my winter sets as well? Thanks.

thanks for the reply, lets say they do fit, and now i have two sets of wheel and tire, one is stock all season with tpms, the other is winter set with NEW tpms. Suppose i take my car in and get the winter set's tpms programmed. do i need to reprogram the stock all season's tpms if i wanna put them back on when weather gets warmer?
 
You would need to reprogram them each time you swap setups.. Dealer does the programming for $35 here, no mounting or changing tires, just programming..

Also, make sure the aftermarket wheels indicate they are tpms compatible.

the guy who is selling the TPMS tells me he has two sets of rims and both got oem TPMS, and he only programmed them once....and you can change set without anymore programming...:confused.:
 
interesting....can't answer that question now, but I'll know 100% for sure in the spring when I put my oem wheels back on. I have the same exact brand and model number on my oem and my winter sets. Although each TPMS I believe has its own ID otherwise the computer may mix up TPMS from your FX and the one riding along side you right?

He's not telling the truth, it happens :-) .

^^ what he said, you have to get them reprogrammed each spring and fall, that's why I don't run them in my summer set. I think it is a rip off, my Dealer charges $45 each time.
Heck I have sensors in both sets of tires for my full size GMC 4x4 and I can program them myself (it tells you how in the owners manual.)

so pretty much its like fx can only store 1 set of tpms information at the most eh...
 
I don't know what's the deal with this reprogramming for the TPMS. I have changed the wheel set with the TPMS twice without reprogramming and after a couple of miles of driving the car the sensors worked with no problem. So i think a reprogramming is not necessary.
 
It seems like this should be solvable on both the tire side and the car side (by resetting the ID in the sensors or expanding the set of known sensors in the car). I was probably misreading a thread on here earlier, but I thought that if you had the equipment to reprogram the car you also had the equipment to reprogram the sensor and then it would be a matter of recording the first set of IDs and assigning it to the second set of sensors.

At the least there is an opportunity here, the sensor just has a stored ID. It was set once, perhaps it can be set again.

do you have different sets of tpms on each rims?
 
I looked up programmable TPMS and they do exist, EZ-sensor by Schrader. Coincidentally the part number for an EZ-Sensor for the FX is 40700-JK00B, which is a part number I've seen on these forums as the required TPMS part number for our vehicle. On the EZ-sensor website one of the 'advantaged' of that valve sensor is that it can be reprogrammed to broadcast the ID of another sensor (to replace one that has a bad battery, has otherwise failed, or a whole set corresponding to your set of Winter wheels).

I think that people have been doing is reprogramming their car when they should have been reprogramming the tire sensors instead.

You program your car with one set of IDs and then you program two sets of sensors to broadcast those IDs; for your Summer and Winter wheels.

Another reprogrammable TPMS I've been reading about is from a company called Orange TPMS: http://www.orangetpmsusa.com/
 
I actually just bought a set from them #SCA01B off eBay for like $140 shipped. Received them yesterday and they look pretty decent. Gonna wait till spring time to get them programmed.
