winshield tint removal .

hey guys i have my windshield tinted and i got pulled over and a ticket for it yesterday . im just gonna take it off so i wont have any more a$$wholes pulling me over for that . what can i use to remove the tint without damaging my dashboard . thanks guys .
 
i was on collins in my dads lex and a cop was just standing in the middle of the street pulling people over for bullllishhh..he got me for windshield tint but just payed the ticket...my dad since hasnt had a problem and i live in pa (one of the most strict states) and i never had a problem with the tint on my WS. Maybe you dont have to take it off, i just put my windows down in a situation when a cop could not see through my windshield. (30% entire windshield)
 
Soapy water solution and a razor should work fine. take yout time pulling it off and use the razor to help clean any excess glue residue. Then use windex to clean as normal.

he is talking about windshield not the windows

but people use heat guns to remove the tint and yea like dee said razor blade and windex to get the glue residue off
 
Ya my tint is perfectly legal but ive been pulled over twice for it. Part of the prob is im completely blacked out and they think im some drug dealer or somthing so i usually keep my windows atleast cracked so they dont give me trouble
 
yeah the PA police suck. they gave me 2 speeding tickets and warned me twice for tints....and said my car was suspicious and attracts attention......i go to school in PA....
 
I get haggled all the time for tints in NY. I know the spots where cops sit so I open my sunroof to let light in to make it look not as dark when i drive by. I have 5% all around, but my interior is tan so that helps out somewhat. I install tints myself. When i take em off i just pull the tint off slowly and scrape the glue off thats left behind with a razor blade. Some spots that are tuff i use Goo Gone.
 
5% all around, is that including windshield? damn how do you see at night?

i've got my rears and hatch limo tinted and my fronts/windshield at 58% and it gives the illusion that my tints legal (or so i think), haven't been hassled yet.
 
just lay something down on top of your dash if you're really worried. pull the trim off the a pillars, they should pull right out with a little bit of force. this will give you access to the edge where you can start to peel the tint back. After you peel it all off, just take a razor blade and clean it (or just take some goo-gone or something like that to remove leftover stickyness.)

or you could just pay a tint shop to do it......

That you Teddy??? Long time.

Legal because you have a MD note? I think front has to be 100% transmission, but rear's can be tinted.

I heard in 1/1/2010, front windows can be tinted 50% transmission in Illinois?
