Will 265 45 20's work?

Hey all,

Just picked up a nice set of 20's for my 2005 fx35 and they came with 265 45 20's on them. Given the shorter sidewall, but same rolling diameter on all 4 wheels, will they be ok? I know oem is 265 50 20.

I'm ok with the speedo being slightly off :)

Diameter difference is 3.71%.
Most tire places recommend to stay with in 3%. From 1010tires.com"
"recommend staying within 3% of the diameter of the original tire. Any more than this and you face the risk of brake failure."
 
zebra, its fine.. the OD is 29.4in and as long as u have the same sizes all the way around you'll be fine...btw its the same OD as 295/40R20 which is the size Lance has on his GTR square setup

yeah I thought that too, 3.71% is not a big difference
 
Like I said I got the tires. (Brand new yokos) with the rims, so I don't plan to buy new tires. I just wanted to know if I can run this setup as is on my truck.

Looks like it will be fine.
