HELLOOOOOOOOOO Everyone! Long time no speak! So after one full month of driving her 2015 Audi SQ5, every single time my wife and I are in it together, all I hear are complaints about unintuitive button placement, lack of touchscreen, slow nav, and more. Oh brother! I figured you guys and gals would enjoy this. As a car guy, I wanted to give you my unbiased opinion: Everything in the FX35 was just easier. Inputting a nav destination, changing from ipod to Sirius, adjusting the volume. Everything just made a bit more sense. It was more of a user-friendly, everyday car. After putting 1,100 miles on the SQ5, here is my take on it: It is more of a driver's car. The ride is firm, tight, quick and just all-around really nice. It sounds super aggressive, blips the throttle when downshifting and "pops" when upshifting. It puts a smile on your face from ear-to-ear where as the FX35 only made it from cheek-to-cheek. It has very nice interior refinements from the carbon fiber to the flat-bottom steering wheel, to the stitching on the seats and dashboard, and it has a very solid sound even when just closing the doors. It does however, have this God-awful rattle coming from the panoramic moonroof. It's slowly making me crazy. Both cars are incredible in my eyes, but at the end of the day, I want my wife to be happy as it is her car! I told her to hang in there until the summer and if she didn't come around to liking the SQ5 more, I would put it on Swapalease for her and get her into a 2015 QX70 Sport. I hope all is well with everyone. Sorry for the rambling, and now for a couple of pictures! I miss you guys/gals!

The last time we drove our FX35 before the new guy took it over:

After one day of ownership with tinted front windows and powdercoated gloss black wheels:

And after realizing the 21" wheels on summer performance tires were terrible in the snow, we urgently needed some winter wheels/tires:

And finally, its current stable-mate:

I can't wait for it to stop snowing and being zero degrees in New York so I can take a proper photoshoot for you guys!

Oh and a little teaser of its future stable-mate (on order with an expected April/May delivery)....:smile (2):

German engineering is funny like that. I remember programming a Q5's garage opener, and it was so complicated I had to get out the owner's manual. I remember for one you had to have the parking brake on. Sounds easy enough, except that the parking brake in these cars is electronic, so I had to flip a switch I have never seen before. Then when programming you have to hold the garage opener within a couple inches of the front logo instead of just press it when you press the button on the rear view mirror. Funny thing is they had taken it to the dealer, or maybe even the dealer came to their house, and programmed it but it still didn't work.

I do like Audi's, but the way Germans do things is a bit quirky at times.

If you're SQ5 was not black, I would have been genuinely interested in taking it over.

I believe I am going to be on the hunt for one in the near future.

And no, i'm not getting rid of my FX, so nobody even open their mouths about a part out.

I agree with your wife, the MMI in the Audi is very cumbersome, it takes two inputs to get it to do something vs one in the FX. I couldn't program my garage door either, I finally pushed the learn code on the opener and then held the button in the car and it worked.

I miss my FX dearly, I was looking at an iridium blue 50 for sale on cars.com. The fx stands out styling wise, the Q5 blends in.

They have the 50 in blue? I don't think I've seen one before. I guess it makes sense given how rare the blue is and then the 50's are rare too.

Wow that's crazy about the Audi. Didn't expect it to be as you speak. You should have kept the limited, that color is just amazing.
