Widow with a 2004 Infiniti FX45, want to keep it running!

I am a widow with little resources but a fantastic 2004 FX45 with almost 100K miles. I have loved this car and I want to keep it running. I am joining this site for help and to make sure i don't get ripped off at the mechanic. I was stranded yesterday with what I think is a crank position sensor failure and recently had radiator replaced.
