Since I change my own oil, I was wondering what kind of oil you guys use. I'm on my 3rd oil change and have been using the Nissan Ester oil up till now. Also one more question, is the ester oil synthetic?

So what's your thought on the Ester oil, will it extend the life of our motor? Apparently it reduces the friction inside the engine.

Mobil 1 with an fx45 filter (purolator synthetic).......its slightly bigger than the 35 filter and fits with plenty of room. On an 06.

Mobil 1 EP and M1-110 filter, slightly bigger than the stock and fits just fine. Use the same filter on EX, FX and previously my G35.

German Castrol aka Castrol Edge, formerly Castrol Syntec in 0W30 weight with oem Infiniti oil filter.

Is the oem FX50 oil filter bigger than the FX35 filter? They are interchangeable on an FX35 right?

I'm a big fan of the Pennzoil Ultra that has hyper cleansing technology and what I've been using in the FX50S for a long time. Great for our engines considering ours break down the oil and get dirty faster than other cars.

This oil smokes mobil 1 and Royal Purple.....and matches Amsoil Signature Series on paper, so it's a bargain for the quality of product.

It is an outstanding oil with exceptional specs. Ultra has extremely low NOACK volatility percentage of 6.6% for the 5W-30 (Mobil 1 is 10.1%). Lower percentage is better. Great cold temp performance, ridiculously great showings in the Sequence IIG piston deposit and Sequence IVA camshaft wear tests, carries all the certifications, and even comes with a 500,000 mile warranty with this oil. It's based on a relatively new GTL Fischer-Tropsch, which is a big part of why it performs so well.

Mobil 1 extended high performance filter (not the regular one) or the bosh premium distance plus (not the regular one) I will use. Both are considered top and depending on where I'm at I will get one of these. You get top notch filtering without reduction of oil performance like you would when using the higher end purolator.
