What is up? A prospective 09 FX35 owner-

Hi, I'm a prospective 09 FX35 owner and wanted to get up to speed on the FX35. I am a member of my350z.com, nagtroc.org and mygtr.com. I own an 06 350Z Grand Touring Coupe, an 08 Altima 3.5 SE and an 05 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road. I wish I owned an 09 GTR; maybe in a couple of years.
I'm looking to replace the 05 Nissan Pathfinder with an 09 FX35. The 05 Pathfinder is the second one I have owned and wanted to go in another direction. I'm also looking at the 09 Murano LE AWD, BMW X3 and the Lexus RX-350. I want the FX35, but I want to test drive the other crossovers for comparision purposes. Any input would be much appreciated. I look forward to getting up to speed on the FX35 and hopefully owning an 09 FX35 soon.

I might be biased, but the FX is better than all those vehicles put together. Go for a drive and see for yourself.
Basically a Z with a backback

Welcome. I miss my Pathfinder.

+1

The Murano LE offers a lot for the money though and very spacious. But it's going to drive like an Altima and not a Z.

Welcome! Ex 350Z owner here and I went through exactly what you're going through right now.

This was the way I broke it down:

Murano - A FWD with CVT crossover built off of the Altima. Being a 350Z owner you should know AWD > RWD > FWD  Even the nicest Murano is no Infiniti FX35. Muranos are good SUVs for the wife but the FX is the crossover for a man. It has the tip tronic tranny and is RWD or AWD off of the FM platform.

BMW X3 - Nice SUV, very sporty, but for the money you are getting so much less and more for the brand. Also you're buying the intro line that BMW has to offer.

Lexus RX350 - Very nice SUV for the suburban house wife. No lie, most women prefer the RX becuse the features are more appealing to them. Many women hate the exhaust note and other masculine features of the FX.

And if anything else.. the FX looks the best out of all of them!!

the murano rides like a quest minivan, nothing remotely in common with the fx...
It feels and looks like you're in a minivan the second you sit in it... I don't like the whole not seeing the hood thing. I feel like if I don't see the hood, there's not enough motor

(only exception is mid/rear mounted motors of course)

reminds me of my faithful Integra
1.6 ltr

Couldnt see the hood :err:

Welcome to iS! You probably won't like the RX, my mom has the 330. Think of a numb and boring to drive FX. Oh and torque steer.
