What is this part?

Can anyone please tell me what this black plastic box is that is hanging down from the rear passenger side of my car? This is from a 2006 FX35. I've attached pics showing the part (circled in blue) from a distance and close up from underneath the car. Clearly it is no longer attached because the support bracket is rusted off. I'll probably have a bodyshop weld on a new plate and re-fasten it, but I don't know what this part is? I don't think it's part of the fuel system because when I looked in the service manual it wasn't included in that diagram.

Anyone know or encountered this same issue?

that's the gas evaporator canister that's part of the fuel system that recoups the gas vapors and sends it back to the motor to burn to save fuel

It's held on by one 12?mm bolt. Make sure the hose clamps aren't rusted. I believe there's two with clamps
