Hey guys, my problem is that my fx is making really strange grinding and pinging noises? It was my first time driving in the snow the other day and as I braked it started making a grinding noise? Could it be my pads, rotors, or something stuck in them? Its loud when I brake hard and doesn't make the noise at all when I soft brake at a long distance. I also spun out once and while correcting myself, it made some sort of loud pinging noise when I pressed the gas pedal hard, as the slip light was flashing. What could it be? I'm afraid that I damaged something. Thanks.

Grinding while braking is probably ABS if the roads are slick. Was the pedal pulsating on your foot? Happens when braking hard because you are locking up the brakes, and sliding, which activates the ABS. Slip light would flash when you floor it if it's slick also.

Ok cool. I had a small feeling that it was abs activating, but i wasnt too sure. Also my fx died once during a spin out and it had trouble starting up, but cranked up strong eventually.

The pinging when you spun out was probably traction control kicking in. ABS as everyone else has said makes weird noises too. But when your traction control activates it sounds like your car is going to explode... Completely normal.
