Water leak under passenger side

Hello,

I am new guy here , so hopefully I am posting in the correct sub-forum .

I have infiniti FX 35 AWD model 2009 and today I noticed there is water leaking under passenger side . This never happen
before , so I am asking for advice on where the source of water might be coming from . I opened the hood and there was no leak from
windshield liquid container , oil , or radiator

As you can , the water is moving down along the slope but its hard to trace it back , so I am asking whether someone had similar thing .
 
Is there an aftermarket alarm or stereo system installed? The po may have fished a wire through the firewall behind the battery and did not seal it properly. .
 
Sounds like condensation from the AC if you are running it.

I assume you mean there is only water outside of the vehicle. If there is water inside of the passenger cabin, then yes, you may have a leak and GEE's suggestion would be a good place to start.

No everything is stock

Has the battery been replaced. I read on here that there is a seal that must be replaced if you change your battery and it is on the passenger side.

I recently bought (4-6 months ago) the car from the Doge/JEEP dealer so I assume the changed the battery but I remeber saying when they serviced the car in infiniti dealer.

Yes I am running AC . I actually checked the passenger cabin and there was no water on the floor since its common probleam people have on the internet.

Had that problem on my FX35 2009 also on passenger side floor tray. Dealer fix it repairing the sunroof water drain tube. $90
 
Alright so I have this same issue. Today after a good rain I caught it in the act and followed the water backwards.

If you take off the blower cover in the pass footwell there is a main wiring harness that goes up and through the firewall. When I go to the top side that wire harness is right under the passenger side front sunroof drain exit. I guess after 8 years my seal has weakened. I'm going to take some roofing tar or similar material and seal it up real good.

Terrible place for a main wire harness pass through, literally in the water exit channel. Terrible terrible design choice.

i have a similar issue more water on the drivers side and the sunroof drainage thing is exactly what the mechanic told me is the most likely cause. going to fix it tomorrow. i hope it doesn't come with ant complications
 
My mechanic is stumped on how to access the valve for the sunroof drain. All the videos on YouTube are showing for a different model and it all doesn’t seem to apply for my 2014 qx70. I’m
So worried as he’s loosening so many things
 
We managed to reach the valve on the passengers side and flush. Issue now is how to ge to the one on the drivers side. Not looking promising
 
Remove the plastic cowl pieces at the base of the windshield (on the exterior), near the back of the hood. You will be able to see the sunroof drain screen from outside the car. When you do this, the foam rope seals for the cowl pieces will need to be replaced. It is likely that water is getting in from there anyway. Just use foam rope seal (weatherstripping) from a local hardware store to replace the stock seals.

Thank you for your response. yesterday we managed to complete the flushing of the drivers and passengers side. the drivers side was particularly difficult to get to and even harder to reinstall. the mechanic says next time he sees an infiniti with a similar problem he's going to run! lol
