What about installing some type of computer kill switch. Do you think that we may be able to cut off the electricity to our locks? I installed a computer kill on my old Impala, that allows me to cut the power to the ECM.I could get into my car put the key into the ignition and turn the key forward but it wouldn't start. Is there a way to do the same thing with the locking device on the car with the killing All of the power? maybe kill the power to the key fob signal receiver? I will be trying this soon.

The power door locks are part of the alarm system, this is how the system gets it's input from the doors. Cutting the power on the door locks may not work.

Wow, that's some trick stuff.. Only way to circumvent is to cut power. Battery kill switch? Would such to have to reset everything every time.

Try not to leave stuff in the car (phone, Ipod, tablet & others)

These guys must be making a killing this time of the year with everyone Christmas shopping stores to stores and trunks full of gifts:-(

Interesting I found this thread today, I had a car broken into New Year's Day 2008. Tonight, all they'll get is my Adidas and my gym bag.

It can't be that hard to trace a code for a body control module, you send it the proper signal and it will open doors and trunks. I have no respect for thieves either, but I just don't leave anything good in the car anymore. I guess my EZ-Pass would be good though, its auto-replenishing too lol.

Good info, Freddie. And scary too. We all need to be aware.
I try to never leave anything valuable in the car. If I do, I give a conscious effort to accept the risk of losing it. The most secure kill switch I ever had on a car was a keyed lock on the power to the coil. Without a good understanding of the keyed switch, there was no starting that motor. Of course no help against a grab and go burglary though.

Removing the fuse with a non-working fuse for the fuel injection or fuel pump will do the trick until you have time to install some kind of a kill switch.

Never leave an empty fuse slot as this will be an easy give away.
