Wanting to put the G37 coupe exhaust on my FX

I've been wanting to do this for a while. I want to put the G37 coupe exhaust on my 09 FX35. I love the sound of the one on the coupe because it's louder, raspier, and has no drone like aftermarket exhausts. Some guy did it on his EX35:

It must be possible to do on the 2nd gen FX right? I'm unsure on which part do I exactly need to make it sound like that? The actual muffler with the tips or the downpipe/y pipe section? A used one in good condition will run me around $150 which is not bad.

Your best bet would probably be to go to a good muffler shop that you know can do great custom work or have good references to and then bring some pictures and dimensions and see what they say before you buy it. JBaker did some custom exhaust work on his FX50. You can almost do anything you want, but it might cost a few hundred from the shop to make it fit. Also, keep in mind when doing custom, depending on how good the shop is, the tips may end up not being equally level or equally spaced left/right.

There might be someone on iS that can detail how much work there might actually be involved fitting a G37 exhaust on a 09 FX35.

You don't want the Invidia drowning out your XM 51 beats? ;) I would go with Invidia....would make the FX sound so bad ass. I probably would have ordered one already if they made one for the FX50.

2 bad you did not live closer. i got a stock G37 exhaust sitting in the garage. you could have it for a great price.

I have mounted the Megan G37 axle back on my FX last week. I have not taken any pics yet. The axle back was 99% perfect fit, the only problem was that one of the flanges were not alligned and i have to cut them both and weld them back. Only the tips had to be extended. The FX sounds pretty awesome now. It's much deeper than before and so far no drone. The stock piping is crap if you ask me. I have my car for three years and 80% of the piping is rusted. I also want to change the Y pipe and maybe next year the mid-pipe as well. I confirm again that the G37 exhaust fits the FX35 and why not the FX50 though i don't know what diameter the pipes have on 50's.
