Viper Smart Start

After a couple days in the install bay at Best Buy, I finally got my Smart Start up and running on my FX..

The ability to start the car and arm it with my iPhone is pretty sweet. I got the alarm because I wanted tilt sensors to prevent anybody from jacking my wheels.. Sad to say, it's almost happened twice now while I was in Hollywood.. Now it will call my phone and page the remote if anybody is trying anything..

I definitely recommend this system! I'v got a bad habit of leaving my windows down when I go to the leave the car, that's not really a problem anymore..

Now that she's armed like Fort Knox, I think it's time to start checking out some systems.. Definitely want to change out the door speakers for full components, as well as thrown in at least one bad a** sub...

Dude where in Hollyweird do you work where they would want to jack your wheels..

I am in Hollyweird and I am ok.. I'm on Hollywood and Wilcox..

Would like to see your alarm in action...

It was in the parking garage at Arclight... I'll work on the videos!

I use to have my staff park there all of the time. Just got tired of them giving me excuses why they were late because they had to walk 2 blocks to the CNN building to get to work.

My offices are now on Wilcox and Hollywood.

I'm actually surprise u let the guys at bestbuy touch ur fx. Maybe it's better where u live but in my area bestbuy/Futureshop is responsible for many botch up alarm/audio install. Most of the guys there have no formal training apart from diy ing their own car. I use to work there and I have seem installer "accidentally" hot glue the faceplate on to stereo unit an the owner of the car not realizing until few months later when they try to remove the faceplate. Anyways is there any consqeunce to the install with the intelli keyless? Any features that don work anymore?

Did they have any problem installing that system ? I heard the FX35's especially with the Intelligent key were a real bear to put in ?

Yeah, they had some difficulty... They were on the phone with Tech Support forever.. The guys at Viper were very helpful though and were able to get everything worked out perfectly!

Truth be told, they did a great job... I actually ended up just using the factory remote but having it linked to the alarm.. When I used the remote that Viper gave me I couldn't use the "Unlock feature" on the doors.. I can roll the windows up & down with the remote , and arm it of course.. I just can't start it, that is done with my iPhone...I couldn't be happier with the set up...

I was also looking into the viper alram. Really nice alarm and features. But i went with compustar because of the range.

I got the smart start installed however the guy that installed it never registered my smart start and I was trying to set it up this weekend but now I have to wait till Monday to have him register it.

When the installerers finally activates it I'm just going to get the thre year plan since I'm planning on keeping this FX for a few more years.

Ha, nice. Remote start is such a nice add-on for cold weather. I have one in my FX45 and my Sienna. This reminds me of activate my Carlink module so I can use my phone to remote start the car. Last that I check, Carlinks annual due is just $30/yr.
