Vinyl Wrapping...

Would anyone be able to help me out? Does anyone that has vinyl wrapped the roof on their 2nd Gen FX know what dimensions are need to wrap the roof completely (including around the rails)?

Would 8ft x 5ft suffice?
Specifically this one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-1080-Sco...t=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item19d28fd49f&vxp=mtr

i would have someone install it professionally for you. I did my whole FX50 vinyl wrapped by PHENOMENALVinyl in Long Island, New York... it's not an easy task taking off the roof rails.

Yea they did a sick job on your fx. I don't have the money to pay for a professional installation though. I've had places quote me $300+ for a roof wrap, yet the wrap itself cost $120, which is like a 10'x5' wrap.

you're more than welcome to come see my FX in person. It's as much as labor for getting windows tinted. It looks simple but it isn't if you want to prep it properly and also not ruin the paint when you take it off (which I've seen happen).

If your doing a matte black roof its easy to do since it has no coating on it and doesn't show imperfections if screwed up.

If your doing a gloss black roof it's a pain in the ass. Since it has a glossy coating on it bubbles show easier and when you heat it up to stretch it to the curve of the roof since it's not completely flat it leaves stretch marks if pulled too much. Best to leave it to a professional since it's a big area your working with. I'm all for DIY stuff as you can see on here, but something like that I wouldn't tackle myself.

I know vinyl is reversible and not permanent, but for $300-$400 to install vinyl I'd rather have it professionally sprayed at a bodyshop which would come out looking alot cleaner and nice.

Just my $.02

so a few of us are wondering how much would it be (without the deep discount that you got)?
