Vibration, 2009 FX35

When I turn the wheel sharply to the left or the right (backing in and out of the driveway, parking lot) i feel a vibration that can be felt throughout the whole car. If I had to guess I would say something is rubbing, but upon a quick eye inspection i didn't see anything touching. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem? It only happens when the car is moving (i.e. if i turn the wheel all the way to one side, without the car moving, I don't feel anything). Any input would be great

its your steering column a couple of weeks back i got a letter from infiniti that there is a recall on the steering column i took it to them no charge nothing they replaced everything that needed to be replaced and handed my baby back :D call ur dealer

There is no recall on the Steering column in Canada. They told me it was the rack and pinion and luckily they had it in stock. Took about 4 hours to change, but she's all better now

Well I called them and they said there is no recall on steering column in my place too, but they said they extend the warranty of steering column.

this is somewhat it said on my letter i got it said that in some states and countries cause of heat will make the steering column break down or something like that if i find the paper i will scan it and put it up

I had the same exact problem it had something to do with the oil they put in the transmission or the powerstearing fluid i forgot, but when they replaced the oil the vibration disappeared a while later.

Hope this helps!!

The problem you had was your motor in your steering column. That was the recall, and it wasn't working properly. Mine they fixed last week and it turns out my rear diff was messed up, but all better now

I'm not complaining but here are the items I've had to repair or address on my new '09 FX35:

1. Brake pedal squeak - Corrected. (technician added epoxy to brake arm mechanism)
2. Buzzing on driver side door - Corrected (After three (failed) visits to dealership, technician fixed this by adding padding to inside of driver door. Crazy.
3. Steering wheel recall. Corrected
4. Airbag light - New. SRS Air bag light stayed on in instrument panel and on lower stack for passenger side. Part ordered, being installed tomorrow.
5. Transmission reflash - New. Scheduled for tomorrow.

My car is great, but thiis is the first FX (I've had three) to have any issues right out of the gate.
