very important problem about navigation.. HELP please !!

hey guys, i just moved from the us to [FONT=arial, sans-serif]Dubai, and shipped my FX35 with me. my navigation doesnt work here. went to the dealer they were assholes and didnt wanna do it because the car is not from there.
so what can i do to get it updated ??? please help guys[/FONT]:disapointed::disapointed::disapointed::disapointed:[FONT=arial, sans-serif] [/FONT]
 
I suggest you e mail (or call) the dealer you had here in the States. Maybe they will at least try to get you an answer?

I dont believe that the 2009+ use a DVD for nav, they are hard drive based nav systems. Also, to update you have to take the vehicle in to the dealer who down loads it to your cars HD.
 
I didn't know that, thanks. Then maybe try a local Dubai Nissan dealer? They may be nicer and more helpful. I'm sure some of the newer Nissans use the same HD based systems?
 
from what i heard that the 09 system is different than the rest of the 2nd gen !! not sure but i will try to call the dealer in DC and see how it goes

the dealer here says that the system in the us is different than the ones in EU and gulf countries. he wants me to pay 4000$ to change the hole system
 
wow what a pain in the ass. Try a few different dealerships in dubai and not to see if any will do anything. I have a hard time believing it will be $4k. I believe you just need to buy the europ region, which here costs about $150 and then $50 for dealer to use a computer to install it.
 
4k is changing the whole unit preinstalled with he right region....I'm 95% sure he just needs the right region nav update installed.
