The exact answer for the question as laid is no, turning the VDC off will not hurt your FX from functionality point of view. It does not have any technical complications that is why it is available as an option.
The VDC is a safety feature, like the seat belt, you can choose not to use it, if you do use it however, it will improve the chances of avoiding accidents or at least minimizing the resultant damage. Driver's behavior remains the key element in the equation of safety.

If you drive with it off the only thing that can get hurt is yourself? The VDC has saved me a couple of times when accelerating hard from a stop while turning either left or right.
Tell me about it, back when I had an issue in the car and the VDC-OFF and SLIP were on, I was coming relatively fast to a big roundabout, there was not much traffic so I entered with speed and started turning at the far end overtaking another car, my car at certain point was shifting laterally left and right, and I was unable to control it no matter what I do, I applied the brakes and tried to steer it back but it kept swinging while moving ahead, I remember very well the car behind me slowed down and got as far back from me as possible as I was going to a guaranteed roll-over. Thanks to he light traffic I was able finally to bing the car under control, I pulled over and kept in the car not believing what happened and that I actually got away with it.
If I had the VDC working, it would have definitely improved the handling of the car and prevented the lateral motion, if I adjusted the speed when I first entered the round about none of this would have happened even if the VDC was off.
