UTR CF Intake Tube

as an FYI UTR brought in several versions of their CF tube. I know because I was a guinea pig for them. the first one was straight and rough inner walls w/o breather. after that there were variations of stube, smooth wall and breather. i never got them to admit it, but i think alot of their products were basically rebranded from another company. i think kakumei on ebay is the current distributor for similar products.

yes its wrapped, I was just experimenting w/ a new 3d CF "vinyl" . It doesn't color match too well with the other CF pieces but the pattern looks identical. I may leave it on or take it off and paint the bar... (was thinking of other areas to wrap...but its really hard to wrap, i learn that redoing my clear bra:rofl:)
here is a sample image of the CF wrap:

They had a inner smooth CF tube?
Did anyone else get one of those. That had always been my major gripe with that part, but after using it, I'm not even convinced that having it rough hurt anything. Butt dyno told me it performed better than a standard Ztube which is smooth. Possible that the rough surface agitates something & gives the intake a more desirable flow?

yeap, the rough wall was replaced by a smooth wall. i'll be honest, i didn't feel their products provided any benefit (purely cosmetic). i got rid of their cftube and put the stock ztube back on. i recently picked up a used nismo cai for the G and might drop that on shortly. but i still believe that the ztube matched w/ a drop in filter performs the best.

so what was the fix? i swapped my c/f tube over from my g35 and it is rubbing on the side too. eventually it will cut through that tube and make a nice air leak. which, i would like to avoid......

I might be buying a utr tube from someone today. Quick question- will the stock couplers work and will i get any issues rubbing on the brake fluid compartment? Guy did say it was fx35 specific not g or z

They should be accordian style ones that flex a little bit. At least IIRC, that's what I got with mine. I have a chrome UTR tube and it doesn't rub anywhere.
