Up grading the stock stereo on a 1st generation FX35 2005

Hi all. I want to upgrade to a double din. I need someone to lead me were can I see a step by step upgrade. Or if there's a shop that I can take my fx. I'm in Los Angeles.

Look at Zebra's FX. he has a lot of pictures from his stereo upgrade

I did look at pictures that Zebra FX provided. I was trying to find something more detailed that explains step by step kinda thing. Is there a certain model that is made for the 1st Gen FX with out doing alot of modifications?

If you want something looking factory it will be a lot of custom fabrication. I don't know of anything unit that would fit and still look factory simply because there just not deep enough behind the dash to house the whole thing. The more I looked at Zebra's the more I wanted one.

I'm hoping theres someone out here by were I live that has done the upgrade. I would like to meet up and get some advice on how to perform the upgrade. What is the easiest and best interface module that give you a aux and iphone adapter.

There's another forum I frequent called luxury4play and I see good work coming from Al and Ed's in Los Angeles. I don't have any 1st hand experience with them so you'd definitely need to do some due diligence. But I'm sure there's hundreds of quality shops out in LA, but be careful. I wouldn't let the average installer come anywhere near my truck....errr I mean suv.

Does anyone else have any recommendations on shops for our friend here?

As do I lol. Glad it's not just me. Considering I have the FX and an M, it easily gets referenced as "the truck" and the M "the car".
