  • IF YOU CONFIRM: The driver's seat in an applied vehicle: Has a noise (clicking, creaking,or clunking) coming from the seat bottom area AND/OR Rocks back and forth. ACTION: For 2003 model year vehicles: Replace the Seat Lifter Motor Assembly and Lifter Link Assembly in the driver's seat. For 2004 & 2005 model year vehicles: Replace ONLY the Lifter Link Assembly in the driver's seat. Refer to the Service Procedure for details.

I just called the dealership and they said this repair comes out of our pockets :embarrassed:

I also have mild rocking back and forth on the driver's side seat with hard acceleration and hard braking. I brought it in, but they said they didn't notice anything.

(What a coincidence, considering my vehicle is still under warranty!)

Would you guys happen to know of any service bulletins for the 09+ FX's?

Thanks

The car has to be under the original warranty in order for them to fix this TSB.

I had mine done 2x when my car was under warranty, and had no issues with them replacing it. Although mine has a very slight rock again...but not enough for me to pay for it now.

yeah, it's pretty annoying, but could live with it. It's something with the plastic gears and the teeth, just need to get them replaced.

Nah I have the full list of TSB's for the 2009+ FX's, and there is no seat TSB on that specific issue.

In order for something to be a TSB, there has to be a certain amount of complaints filed.

well,,
i live in Long Island NY
they repair it under my extended warranty!
don have to shaking my butt anymore while im driving--- :)

I have same. Bothered me,brought it to the dealer. They said live with it.

When I had to pull my front seats to dry them out (left the sunroof open in the rain) I noticed that one of the cross members in the lower seat frame had broken where it connects to the frame rail. I fixed it with some JB Weld and the seat suddenly stopped flexing and creaking. It was so slight prior to the fix that I really never noticed it, but after the repair the difference was obvious. I don't know whether or not that is the basis of this particular TSB but if so, a tube of JB weld and an hour or so of labor is probably a lot cheaper than replacing the "Lifter Link Assembly"...

Mine cccccrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkssssssssss lol

When I pull mine to get the front rewrapped I'll take a look also; it'll be a while before that happens though.

Oh damn, how did you pull the seat out??

They are (each) attached with 4 boilts at the base, and tethered to the main wire harness with two plug style connectors. The hardest part is maneuvering them out the door without scraping the frames against the plastic interior pieces.
