Transmission shift lag when cold

Hi I recently changed the differential and transmission oil. It was on saturday. After that, 5 of the 7 days passed, the transmission did the same failure, it has a lag of 3 to 5 seconds when shifting from Reverse to Drive. After the transmission reach normal temperature, it behaves normal. I left it at the dealer (it has warranty until 2013) this saturday and they assure it has not made the failure and if it doesn't they are. Ot authorized by the warranty dept to open the tranny to check it. Do you have any idea of what can be the root cause and how to trigger it to shiw the symtoms? Thanks

Hi. They are sopposed to use the correct fluid since is an Infiniti dealer, but you never know, I'll ask to confirm. Also, they check the fluid level is ok. I'm not physically near (3 hours away driving distance). Excellent information by the way!

You have any idea of other possible root cause or how to trigger it so they can clearly see the failure? Thanks

I have/had this same issue.....dealer just replaced my valvebody under my extended warranty.....now I have harsh 1-2 shifts!

Hopefully its just a re-learning procedure & will go away...

So was there a delay in shifting before the fluid change? Or did the fluid change cause the shift lag? Wasn't clear in your post.

They replaced the whole transmission for "a new one" in october 12. They charged $10k to Infiniti for that. That same week it continued with the lag. Same as when they performed the oil change. Thats why I think the oil they are using is not the correct. Up today, it sometimes do it so long that I can rev up like if it is in neutral, after that it engages the 1st shift
