New guy here. I recently got a 2017 70S, and have a strange issue I was hoping this crowd had an answer for. When I crank the vehicle, it occasionally (every 5-10 starts?) will refuse to come out of PARK. The shifter feels mechanically stuck, as if the shift-lock doesn't recognize that the engine is running. If I release the brake pedal and tap the accelerator to bump the RPMs up for a second, it releases and goes back to normal.

My first thought was the relay for the shift-lock, but I'm not sure I have ever seen a relay fail intermittently. Any clues?

This happens to my 2010 FX35 occasional, i sometimes have to wrestle and press the shifter buttons to get it to move. I thought it was a fauly shifter knob and replaced it, and that worked for a little bit, then i washed the car and boom, started happening again.... no idea whats up.

I'll change the Brake light switch soon and see if that helps.

I would have thought you would have had noticeable brake light issues if that switch was bad. Seems like I heard several other things would not work normally as well...maybe even being unable to use the ignition, since the vehicle would not necessarily recognize that the brake pedal was depressed.

The more I read on this, the more I am seeing discussion about a possible problem with the Shift Lock Solenoid or Shift Lock Relay
