tranny won't reach above rpm of 3.5k when in 4th and 5th gear

Hello all,

I recently noticed that the rpm stuck to 3.5 when I am in 4th and 5th gear.
For gear 1-3 it is normal, the rpm can reach the red zone. But when I shift it to 4th, it gets back to 3.5 at maximum, even I floor the gas. DO I need a tranny reflash? And if so, how much does it cost?

Think you should definitely have it checked out at the dealer. Never heard this happening before. Sounds like it is in limp mode. Are there any other things wrong with the fx?

For the first 3 gears, the rpm hits redline with no problem. In 4 it is not.
 
Umm how fast are you going to try to reach redline in 4th and 5th?

Or, how slow are you going, because maybe that is the max engine speed at your given land speed, AKA time to downshift.
