Hello all. My 06 fx35 tpms just came on. I had 18" oem wheels originally but i just swapped it out with my friend who has a 04 fx45 with the 20" wheels. After a day of driving with the wheels my tpms light came on. Do i need to reset it? Just fyi..i checked and filled the tire pressure to specification and light is still on

Did you swap the sensors with the wheel swap?
The system "looks" for the 4 sensors located on the valve and reads the data. If the sensors are not found, the dash light comes on and the nav screen shows the psi as "***".

If your friends 20" has TPM sensor, all you need is to get them program so that your car recognize them. If not, you will have what pork described above. There is DIY to program then sensor, otherwise go to Discount Tire or most major tire shop can get the sensor programmed to your car.

I didn't swap out the sensors cause my friend said his wheels also came with the tpms sensors. I actually just got brand new tires a few days ago because all four tires on his 20" wheels were bald. I got my tires at discount tires and they charged me $28 bucks for the tpms kit change. A few hours after i left the tire shop as I was driving around the tpms light came on. And as you mentioned when I check the nav screen the psi shows up as "****"

Ill give discount tires a visit tomorrow to see if they can program the sensor to my car. Thanks guys for the help.

Sensors have to be programmed for your car, they all run off a different signal. Should be easy for the shop to do; they probably figured that since they were already in the wheels they didn't need to do it.
