So I was just looking at Tokico's website and I thought of asking them, " why dont they sell stuff for the FX?"

So I wrote them:

Comments
Do you make any shock/struts for a 2005 Infiiti FX35? There is a demand for these, and only KYB makes aftrmarket struts/shocks so far (they are already sold out). thank you Alan
there response:

Hi Alan,

Thank you for contacting Tokico Performance Shocks. Wow, I'm surprised KYB is sold out, is it the Gr2? This is just OE replacement. Do you know why the demand is high? Are owners mainly looking for OE replacement, full coilover set up, or damping adjustable performance shocks?

Thanks,
David
I wrote them back and told them we need more aftermarket shock/strut from manufactures since we have a NEED, due to OEm failures and performance...

what do you guys think? Its a try

Awesome initiative Alan!! I haven't buy my struts yet.. How it's the reputation on this company? Please elaborate!!

Good job in contacting them!

^ :err:?

I'd love to see coilovers since NO ONE currently makes them for our vehicles. I'd love to drop my car another 1.5 inches.

At a minimum, it would be really nice if they can develop performance shocks...

I hope they bite and do some R&D to put new products in the market.

Good job Alan!

I'm new to the FX and I'm surprised that there are no aftermarket offerings for shocks or coilovers. There are so many shocks and coilovers made for the G35/350Z.

I wouldn't recommend asking for coilovers. There is little to no demand for them. The 7 people who might buy them from Infinitiscene is not enough to justify production and development costs. The reason KYB is sold out is because they're a cheaper alternative to OEM shocks/struts. If Tokico were to compete with KYB, that could prove successful as KYB isn't big on keeping them in stock. If Tokico can get some OEM replacements quick, I'd cancel my order for KYB's and buy them instead.

I'd be afraid coilovers would be designed with competition in mind & will make the fx ride like crap on the street. I'd love a set of coilovers that ride decent though, but yeah, even if they sold 10-15 sets still not worth r&d to develop,

would take a fair amount of developing to get a nice balanced set of coilovers that ride nice in a usable range too, it's not just about it fitting but it working for it's intended use.... fx is heavier than most cars that would even use coilsprings, so it can't use most off the shelf parts, the spring would be the make it or break it thing too... would take way more playing with than worth for a manufacturer I think...

Wow i contacted tokico by phone about six weeks ago and inquired about the same thing. i talked to a customer service rep and told him about infinitiscene.com, and all the members on the forums looking for a tuned shock and strut that would compliment the eibach or H&R spring, because the oem struts don't do it for us, and everyone here don't want coilovers. I think this could happen if we had more members contact them.
