After many years of schlepping BMW diesels around and sending my mechanic's kids to Harvard, I finally gave up the chase. I remember going to a wedding in rural Wisconsin in the spring of 2003 and seeing a burnt orange FX45 leaving a gas station like a missile. I thought it was one of the most beautiful cars that I had ever seen and have wanted one ever since. I'm currently shopping for a FX/QX AWD with low miles and am in negotiations for a nice V-6 model. I prefer a V-8, but have had no luck finding one that hasn't been rode hard and put up wet (just like God intended). I'm looking forward to learning about modifying these cars and have already enjoyed many of the posts.
