I have a 2011 Qx56. I bought it in October 2023. All services were done by infinity.
The car just started to idle rough and run rough. It was a little more than 1/4 tank of fuel and ever since I bought it I put regular unleaded and not premium.
I put my computer on it and I got three codes. First one was P0300, P0011 and P0022.
I was thinking bad fuel or spark plugs at first. I cleared the codes and took it to the gas station where I added fuel treatment and fuel. It ran fine.
Three days later after sitting over the weekend it did it again. I had it towed to Infinity this time and they said I need a new timing chain, fuel treatment and spark plugs.
The timing chain was done 80,000 miles ago under the recall. I personally have never hear of a timing chain stretching but this is what they said. $6,000
Talk to another Nissan mechanic and he said he highly doubts it’s the timing chain but most likely fuel treatment and spark plugs. He said the Armada engine is the same as infinity and he has only done 3 in his 8 yrs. If the spark plugs are bad it will throw multiple codes.
Plus he said you will hear the rattle if it’s stretched and we don’t here anything. It’s pretty quiet for a 8 cylinder.
So I cleared the codes and drove it home and it ran fine again.
So this weekend I’m going to replace the spark plugs and fuel treatment with seafoam.
Has anybody else had this issue?
