Well gents, I have an injury!!!!! Some particle of Ball Sweat with a 1.5ft trailer hitch backed into my FX!!!!! :tears: I saw it happen and ran outside and the guy drove off!! I tried catching him and got slowed up by the traffic cops letting people out of the office buildings.

No License plate I didn't get it I just wanted to catch him!!!!!!!:mad:

So here is the damage and how much do you guys think it will be? I know some of you own shops so I wanted to get it from you straight. Thanks for the help guys!!!!
 
damn, that really sucks. That will catch up to him later. Same thing will happen to him.
 
That's not scratched Alan. That's cracked.
Bondo & paint, but that bumper is deff. repairable. You'll need to repaint the entire bumper.
 
So he will need to repaint the entired bumper.. I remeber people talking about painting the bumpers and they mentioned price range from 250-500.. I might be wrong tho..
 
that's a hole, & it's pretty close to the 2 tone break, it can be difficult to repair that nicely without making any marks on the lower trim part, but not impossible.

the best way to repaint a front bumper on an fx is to remove it, & that'll make that repair that much better too, expect around $500 to repair that the right way, & that damage is bad enough that it's not totally rediculous to consider replacing the bumper cover either, expect ~ the $900 range for that though, & probably not really necissary. I'm sure there are shops out there that would just repair that on the car too & maybe that would be ~$400 or so...
 
Turbo, at your shop are all bumpers being painted off the car?
I'm sorry to see this, If it was near the one of the sides of the bumper, it could have been blended.. but this is dead center....

no, not really, it all depends on what the customer is looking for. some bumpers really need to be removed more than others, & some customers are shopping on price & price alone, I can't be so elitest to just price myself out of the market, so many times it's a judgement call. when I do think it's necissary I will advise that. remember that there is more than one way to fix any damage. if someone came to me with this fx as pictured they'd have a few options & depending & what they ultimately wanted would depend on what I do... it can be anywhere from ~$450- $900+, again depending on what the customer wants... many average people just want the best price & unfortunately I do have to be competitive to a cetain extent...
 
You should have called the cops right there and give a description of the vehicle!! Even if they can't catch the guy, insurance will take care of hit/runs with 0 deductible, just provide them the police report
 
dude, same thing happened to me couple of months ago but atleast you saw it happened. I was in a grocery store doing my thing and my car was parked in their parking lot, and when i came out i saw a big dent and scratches on my rear driver side door. somebody hit my car and took off. i called the cops right away but they couldn't help me because there were no witnesses or cameras around..
i effin hate it,,:mad:
 
sorry to hear that man. that really sucks. I dont understand why people dont just take off the damn hitch.
