Take off exterior trim?

I don't have a manual but have some experience. :bigsmile:
Rear trim ///1702&highlight=rear+trim
Door handles ///1194&highlight=escutcheon
Lower door plastic trim is just double sided tape and a couple pop in thingys... if you just want to remove the thin chrome strip you can just pull it off.

did you remove the chrome strip from yours and leave the rest of that moulding on the car? i asked turbocad a while back and he told me it couldn't be done. Were you able to get just the chrome off without much hassle? what did you use?
Yes, the chrome strip can be removed. It is just double side taped on, once it is off though it leaves an indentation of where the strip was but It is really not that noticeable.

did you just dig in behind it with a screwdriver to start the peeling?
Yes, use a cloth covered screwdriver and pry at a little section, then yank the rest off.

and just to be clear we are talking about the 1st generation of the chrome trim like an 04, not the wider 2nd gen stuff like on an 06.

the 2nd gen is one complete chrome piece, no insert to remove... the insert is 03-05...

The light is bolted in place to the hatch. There should be 3 plastic covers on the inside of the hatch straight up that hold the light in place.

No problem, I'm sure the lower door trim pops off easily. Just go slow, it's more than likely just clips but they may be easy to break.
The lower trim is held on with clips and double sided tape, if you go really slow as Viet said you should be fine, but they are held on really well and you will have a good chance of bending them.
