Hi, I just recently bought a 2007 Infiniti FX35 in May 2015. So far I absolutely love it. Just had the car serviced at the local Infiniti dealer & it is now leaking in my garage. They told me at the dealership that the O ring is leaking on the oil cooler. $225.03 to fix this!!!! It didn't leak before & I had it serviced when I first got it home at a local mechanic. My husband absolutely hates dealerships, he says that they always upsale! He said that he could fix the O ring & to look online for him for repair info. So here I am. Also I have moisture getting into my right rear tail light. This would cost $378.66 to repair. There is condensation built up. I worry about an electrical short. The last thing is that my windshield needs replacement. I have the lane departure system in it. The dealership states $1241.45. Holy Moley that's a lot of money for repairs. I finally got the car of my dreams & don't want to fork out all of this money. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks Suzanne.

Thank you so much for the feedback already. I will order the oil cooler seal or pick one up at the dealership. Then my husband can fix it this weekend & stop complaining about the oil leak. Glad that it looks fairly simple. Maybe he won't cuss out my Infiniti as much as he did my Toyota 4Runner. Thanks also for the link on ebay. Looks much more reasonable than at the dealership. Really do love driving this Infiniti.

What color tai lights are you looking for? The Reds or the sport ones?

I think she might have the Clear tail lights.

Your better off to look at the For Sale section of the site and see if there is anyone selling or post a request under the WANTED thread. Most members will help out.

Red ones.

I have the red ones, but the clear looks pretty cool.

Thanks BYGDAWG3758. I did see that on the link before. That's a much better price than any other link. Now that we are getting into the winter season & all the sand that gets put down on the road, I might wait until spring time to replace. Unless that crack gets far worse & I get a ticket? It's mostly in the middle & on the passenger side as of now. Thank you, Suzanne

I have a question about air filters & cabin filters. Do you use Infiniti OEM filters or is there another you would recommend? Where can I find specs on filtration with OEM Infiniti air filters? Is it wise to only buy OEM filter as per the dealerships/stealership? recommendation?

Okay one other question, what have any of you done for the black trim around the windows that is fading & looking weathered? I've used some wax polishes & it still need improvement.

I've had my LDWS windshield replaced twice. First time was about $500 for the glass, but I think it was lower quality. Second time I can't remember the cost, want to say $700 or $900, but it was Pilkington, which is high quality.

You can probably figure out most issues that come up by searching on here. I haven't been to the dealer in years for any work. If your husband is comfortable doing most repairs then it should be cheap to maintain.

For filters, I just search on AutoZone for the right one and get the $10 one. Dealer overcharges for those as well and they aren't hard to swap. Might need 2 though.

I had my windshield replaced twice due to rock chips. I have the LWDS so can only go for OEM glass. Check what's your insurance coverage. Geico covers mine with $500 deductible. As for air cabin filter, check FRAM carbon activated filter. Autozone can get you the right model that fits our vehicle. Personally, I prefer the carbon activated filters vs the regular filters since it has odor eliminating properties.

For engine filters, there are many options to include K&N drop in re washable filters or other aftermarket replacement parts. If you want OEM, you can purchase from infinitipartsusa.com or pick up one from the dealer. This is an easy 5 mins. job which the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately my insurance coverage has no windshield benefit.

My husband is out in the garage as I am typing this. He is replacing the o-ring for the oil cooler. He called me out into the garage and had me look underneath. He showed me that there was some much gunk & oil around the filter housing and immediate area. He said that this was unacceptable that the dealership let it go out like this! Even if it had a leak on the o-ring it should've not been this bad he stated as the service was fairly recent. He had no issues replacing the o-ring and is going to leave the bottom cover/skid plate off to see if it still leaks in the next few days after driving it. Even after the dealership offered me a free oil change next visit for keeping so long- close to 3 hrs. for an oil change, my husband said I will not be taking it back there. Having him look at the air filter while he's out there. Thanks again for the link on how to replace the o-ring.
