I hear many of us have this noise coming from our sunroofs. Mine also goes away pretty much when i close the sunroof slider(or whatever its called lol). How did any of you get rid of the noise? Was it loose screws of did you just lubricate the sunroof seals. Anyone have a picture of where the srews are? What did you use to lubricate the seals? Gets annoying after a while. I tried a search but couldn't find anything that really helped

Thanks in advance for any help

Lubricate the seals all the way around the glass. that's what solved it for me. Mine sounded like a combination of squeek and rattle.

I use the lithium spray on to a cloth and then wipe it across the rubber seals. I've got a different product for it now but haven't tried it yet. I'm hoping it lasts a little longer.

I've had this (sounds like a loose screw is about to fall out) and had the dealer fix it 2-3x under warranty. One time it was raining and the noise came about so i opened the sunroof which then proceeded to jam :bulgy-eyes:. Turns out a loose bolt fell off... dealer finally put threadlock and problem had went away.

Well i don't think i'm under warranty, so i would have to do it myself. Not sure where the srews are located though. Do you have to take off the headliner?

I wish i knew more on the process but can't say whether or not the headliner had to come off. Im assuming it did because when the dealer returned the car, there were dents on the upper center console w/ the two lights and sun glasses holder. They ended up replacing this part as a result. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

i would try lubricating the seal first and if it doesn't go away start investigating the sunroof tracks and mechanism.

I misstated earlier. The stuff I've used in the past is a silicone spray, not lithium. It doesn't last very long so I'll be trying the lithium next.

So yesterday I tried to open my sunroof and it made a loud noise coming from the sunroof motor. So I was not able to close it and it just stayed tilted up and everytime I pressd the close button it just kept making the noise. I then decided to pull out the curtosey light out where the motor to the sunroof was located. The moment I pulled it down I noticed a screw fall out and then the second screw fell out.
I remember last year hearing something like a screw bouncing around the area of the sunroof motor but did not pay much attention to it. Last month I heard the same noise I heard yesterday but the sunroof opened and closed so I figured it was ok since it did not do it again. So basically I guess the motor was loose when the screws fell off I don't know how that happened. I was able to screw the motor back and it no longer makes the noise. Might have to mess around with it another day bc I also noticed that when u press close the sunroof closes and then opens back up on its own unless u press stop.
