straight pipe

Don't do it. VQ's sound horrible straight piped. Look up 350Z or G35 sound clips where people tried to straight pipe or use loud exhausts. All you hear is buzziness, rasp, and drone.

But on the Motordyne isn't that more of a muffler vs. resonator? And I doubt the OP is thinking of a Motordyne exhaust for $1600 when he says straight pipe.

the only way to hear and feel, is to get under the far disconnect the mid pipe where it connects to the y pipe. Just rev amd see if you like it. I had mine disconnected for a while. Its not bad, sounds like a sexy v6. Doesnt not come close to the v8 american growl. Youll like it. But the drone is horrible and the rasp can annoy at times

I thought he was referring to removing the muffler, not the ART pipes.

That's a good point, post is pretty vague. Straight pipes makes me think of no cats though. But I think it could mean nothing at all on the exhaust. I might just be mixing up terms.
