Ughh just a couple of months ago my rear seats have been squeaking like crazy. It squeaks every time someone is sitting in it or not and when you go over bumps or slanted up and incline. They really squeak especially when the seats are reclined all the way back or even all the way forward. I brought it to the dealer and they located the problem. It turns out the seats rub up against the side panels in the rear. So they put some greasy leather conditioner on it and the noise "slightly" went away but it's still there. There is nothing they can really do and I believe them. Its just the way the rear seats were designed. They made those side panels too close the the seat which causes the friction and rubbing.

I even tried WD-40 rubbed in between the leather and side panels and that didn't help. Only thing that works is putting a microfiber towel in between the seat and panel. Then the noise completely goes way. I was thinking about using insulating felt like what the dealers use, but was looking for something less tacky since you would be able to see it when the seats are folded down.

This is the only real complaint I have. Otherwise the interior is quiet as a coffin.

I'm not having this issue and I haven't heard anyone else mention this.

Also why would this all of a sudden be an issue and not before? I would think if it was a design flaw, then it would be a problem from the start for everyone, but if it's something due to something going bad or wear that creates this as a problem, then I would think the dealer would take care of it. Like maybe the foam in the back seat got wet or something else weird that made it more flat and hit the door panel more when it didn't before?

The squeak I hear is when someone is sitting in the passenger seat and puts a decent amount of weight on the armrest, then I'll hear squeaks under the armrest (not from the switch panel) but what sounds like squeak/rubbing type noises from the passenger side of the armrest. Have you heard anything like that before?

Nah my rear seats never got wet. I think they've always been like that and I just didn't notice since I usually have the radio up and I never sit in the back. I'm thinking about torqueing the bolts up more that support the seat and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work I'm just going to use insulating felt and permanently fix the sound.

And yeah my center armrest in the front was squeaking before when someone puts pressure on it. I fixed it by tightening up the mounting screws.

Where are the mounting screws that you are talking about for the arm rest the cleared that up?

Felt works wonders :)

Since it is mass produced he along with others may have the problem. The dealer located the problem and tried their best to help.

I think that the felt idea is an excellent one. However I think you have leatherique (or something similar), try using that in mass quantities over the leather in the area that is rubbing.

LOL you guys are hilaraious haha. I wouldnt do that cause I love to keep my new car smell. No need for it to smell like you know what haaaahaa.

Anyways I'm not the only one with this issue. A couple of others on another website had this problem, and all the dealer could really do is condition the leather hoping the squeaking stops. Unfortunately that doesn't fix it. I even tried leatherique and that didn't work either. It only improved the noise. Only thing that seems to work is using felt since it absorbs the friction.

I also have this problem in my '06 when someone sits in the passenger seat. I always thought it was just the seat. Where are those mounting screws for the armrest you were talking about?

The mounting screws on the 09+ 2nd gen's are different than the ones on the 1st gen.

I have been noticing my passenger seat is squeaky and I almost always have the radio up and don't notice but on short rides when the radio isn't up its soooo annoying

I would sugest to live with it. I have a lot of noises and squeaks. At first was so annoying but i have mannaged to live with them though i like to keep my car in mint condition. If you can't find the problem this is the only solution.

I have the same issue with my 08 FX and it drives me crazy. I also can't seem to figure it out and the Infiniti dealer said there was nothing that can be done. I been thinking of taking the seats off and possibly putting some type of cloth between the seats and the side panels.

Hey JD I'll get some pictures up for you later on what to do. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver.

Out of the whole time Ive owned this I only had like two noises. My center console makes crackling noises but I fixed that when I did the navi mod. What causes those noises were the screws being wayyyyyyyy too tight and was causing pressure on the circuit board behind the center console. Loosening them up fixed that issue.

Only thing I have left is the rear seats squeaking. I'm going to fix that once it stops raining outside. Looks like the only thing that will fix it is using insulating felt to stop the friction. Other than that my interior is rattle free.
