yup, 06 for sure, infiniti did a major update starting from 2006 models.

Regardless of year, I'd get Tech package for sure.
There are definately improvments in the '06-08's, but the same logic applies to '09's with even greater design change and update.

I can only spreak from 1st gen, '03-'05. The Tech package includes the Premium package and the Sport package. The rear seat DVD is an extra option. I've never seen the DVD played on the Nav screen. Infiniti went through extra design engineering to ensure that the driver compartment cannot view the DVD screen. The wireless hearphones for the rear seat DVD offer wireless signal in a way that the driver cannot use them. DVD audio can be played thru the stereo system without use of the wireless headphones.
Just let you know the infiniti Nav sucks! Both options are nice. It depends on your budget actually. If you want a more stock looking without spending the money on installing the aftermarket Navi, then go with Navi. You can always buy the sport tails lights and grilles later.
go for the 06. Whether or not you use the navi, at least its there in case you need it. The Sport tailights you can get fairly cheaply later. The "sport suspension" is supposedly no different than the non-sport. And the 20" wheels are nice only if you don't plan on changing them out later.

I use mine every single time I get in the FX for the whole time I drive. :dontknow:rear seat dvd is a waste....i used it twice in 3 1/2 years in the 07 tahoe i just sold. for me at least, it was a dumb option to get
well i did say "for me"...as im sure people use them! do you have people in your tiny backseat everytime you drive, or you just have it on for chits and giggles and audio?
well that's a sweet benefit...i had an ipod hookup as well in last rig so didn't need the rca jacks. whats the best call for us non dvd fx's to get the ipod rolling?
