Spiritual successor to FX50 5.0 ?

It happens, sometimes a great car goes away and never comes back. The 5.0 is crazy hard to find, so it makes me ask, what is the more reasonable alternative?

Other cars have this. An example would be the v8 m3 - A proper replacement spiritually would be the mustang 350gt (Flatplane crank V8 and high revs).

So for the FX50, whats the closest comparison under another brand. Good power, SUV, great value and reliability all comparable.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

So does this mean there is no replacement? lol

I have a 2012 FX35 atm. I realize at some point either an accident or mileage will make it no longer economical. Ill probably go to a last gen QX70 3.7 with the s package. Or an MDX maybe? But probably low mileage QX is the win. I just hate there isnt anything for someone with a v8 craving. They are so so so so so so so just so rare. Ive only seen a 2014 qx70 5.0 for sale in the entire world only once. And only a handful of FX50s. Ive said to myself "If I find a white FX50 with brown interior with less than 120k miles, Ill buy it" - for 2+ years now. Never seen it.

I think a v8 Porsche Cayenne coupe would be a good spiritual successor. It's going to be a while before one comes down to my budget capability.

Did it the other way round! I had an 08 Cayenne GTS 4.8 V8 and then got my 2011 fx 50 , which I think is a much better car!
Also had a Merc E500 5.5 V8 which was very nice but my daughter hijacked it!

Wife is going back and forth about going electric (Tesla) if her job office opens back up again. Her QX70S 5.0 is a guzzler and with gas prices like they are, the QX’s poor economy, and the ~60mi round trip…this ain’t it. Still balancing the cost of new vehicle with zero maintenance and zero fuel outlay vs just keeping and paying for gas. Has 105k miles and just had major service (plugs, belts, fluids). Will probably have new shocks by the time she decides to let it go but she loves it a lot and is very hesitant…

Keep it!
Unless you truly believe that selling a japaneese made vehicle (that you can buy every part for) and buying an american/chineese made vehicle (that you cannot buy new parts for and has known built and reliability issues) will save you money than keep your infiniti.

On the contrary, with the Infiniti being somewhat rare because of the engine and it’s packages, parts are hard to find and there are few aftermarket replacements. Prime example are the shocks and struts…the adjustable 2way units have no aftermarket equivalents and cost $2k just for the parts. If I’m wrong, someone please let me know. The Tesla requires nothing other than tire rotations and fluid checks. Parts are delayed but not hard to get…that’s any car in these times. I have a Model 3 coming this month and it’ll be a welcome relief from my trash BMW….
