Side view mirror replacement

I cracked the black plastic housing on my FX 37 driver's side view mirror while backing into my garage (yes, even with alarm warnings, cameras, etc... Lol). Everything still works perfectly (lane sensor, camera, mirror movement, etc).... Even the white painted part on the front is in perfect condition.

since it has the camera, etc the dealership wants over $1500 to replace it! Apparently, you have to buy the entire mirror, not just the little broken plastic piece! I've found a replacement part on eBay for around $280, which I can add my white painted front to, and I'm wondering how hard it would be to replace it myself.

Has anyone done this that could give me an idea of what is involved?

Thanks!!

Its not hard at all. Take a look at these pictures for a quick peak of what's behind the interior door panel.

Cliffnote version on removing the interior door panel:
1) Rremove the door lock handle backing plate by prying it with a flat head screwdriver or plastic trim removal tools to expose the screw behind it.
2) Undo the screw.
3) Pry the door handle cap and remove the top and bottom screws.
4) Grab the interior door panel near the hinge, pull toward you with light steady power, and work your way around the panel to release the clips from the door frame.

Now that the interior panel is out of the way, you'll see the triangular trim piece covers the three nuts that holding the mirror.
