For those that have this product, is the top portion of the fujita filter unfiltered? I remember my coworker bitching after buying one for one of his cars.

The Fujita 5 SR Air Intake has a rubber coupler to your throttle body, but it has the Mass Air sensor built into the tubing. I will post my pics up later on this afternoon. I have already installed the intake.

My coworker ended up buying a K&N replacement because he hated the filter that came with it.

Yes it came with a Fujita cone filter....

It is unfiltered at the top, but the filter is a dry filter...which is a plus.

Yes, unfiltered as in no filter. The top is just cone shaped, which supposedly makes the incoming air flow in a certain way.
