Shim Kit

I want to change the front pads on my 08 FX35 with OE pads. Is it necessary to get the shim kit as well?

I had a guy put the DBA rotors on with OE pads and my brakes squealed. I just had the FX in for maintenance today and the service rep told me i needed a shim kit to stop the squeal. how true is this and does anyone have a part # for the shim kit. :eek.:

I installed new pads/rotors over xmas without a shim kit and I have no issues.
