sat radio help

the 07 FX 35 i just purchased this weekend says it was "satellite radio ready" which i assume means it was wired to work but doesn't have the actual xm/sirius reciever. When i hit the radio input, it just shows the 3 radio presets, no SAT. I have the antenna on the front and already have an XM account. I was hoping to just transfer my account to a new reciever. If i did this, which tuner model do i need to get to fit behind the radio? thanks for your help!!

Sat Antenna on the front? Are you talking about the one right in front of the Sunroof? I think the OEM Sat antenna is somewhere near the rear and looks like huge pimple right under the rails.

On the 06+ the Sat reciever sits in the trunk area.

oh ok, i figured the huge antenna on the front did more, especially since i got mine with everything but the nav (prefer my garmin and touchscreen) and the DVD (only rear occupant is typically my dog). I'll have to check on the rear antenna in the morning. Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but what exactly does the giant antenna in front of the sunroof do??

Believe it or not that is one of the radio antennas, lol. The second one is one one of the rear triangular windows.

oh wow haha. that's great considering between my iphone and xm i don't think i've listened to the actual radio in about 3 years. what's the point, right? if you have the iphone you get pandora, the ipod and things like slacker radio and the best radio app i've ever seen: wunderradio. basically thousands of streaming stations from around the world. My radio has 2 presets: the local sports station and 88.1 for the iphone haha.
